I did it!!!!
Myra Margaret Romero was born on July 18th at 7:27 am. She was 19.5 inches and 6 pounds 14 ounces. She is healthy and most of the time she is very happy. Other than when she is hungry and when you change her little butt she doesn't really cry. I was expecting more screaming.
I never in my whole life thought that I would be where I am now. I don't think that I could ever see the world in the same way again. Though I am exhausted and haven't really had the chance to regroup yet, I don't think that I have ever been happier in my whole life. I will say that I can now understand why people make such a big having a baby. It had to have been one of the hardest things I have ever done.
With that said here are the pictures I promised.
Look what I did.........

You got it right MMD, she got a 9. She is really really alert, she loves to sit up right and she tries so hard to follow things. The first night she was tummy to tummy with me and she pushed herself all the way up with her hands and looked right at me, shocked the hell out of me. I didn't think they could do that for a while.
Thanks all for the happy thoughts. I don't know if I am being conceited but I think that she is one of the cutest babies I have seen. I can't believe she came out of me still. _________________ The best things in life happen when you least expect them. |

The really cool part is that, at this point, you've just started the climb up the first hill on the roller coaster...it gets way way more fun from here on out.
I know this sounds weird, (to some at least), read to her every night.
Every night.
Mom and a book and warm safe spot.
Watch her eyes...when she sees, when she focuses, comment....talk to her like she understands.
You're growing a brain here.
I helped grow two...
They are formidable brains now.
I still read with my 13 year old.
I hope and pray that she reads to me when I'm in diapers. _________________ Sors salutis

That is not strange to me at all MMD, my parents did the same thing for me and I was reading on my own in preschool. The learn so much so quickly. She has about 12 little books at the moment but even if I am just reading a magazine out loud she seems to dig it.
I am looking forward to seeing her grow but at the same time I know that I have to enjoy every moment because she will only be this little for so long. I am in no rush for her to grow up and hate me from the age 11 to 25. Sometimes I wish that she could just stay this little forever. _________________ The best things in life happen when you least expect them. |

My very best wishes my dear. You are right, she is a beautiful baby. Ive seen lots of new babies and even delivered some of them, and most, but fortunatly, not all, babies look like a clenched fist. 'specially when they havent swabbed them down and gotten the Vernix off yet. They usually have one eye open and their tongue sticking out the side of their mouth! And if there is hair, its all standing on end coated in the Vernix. Thats the white cheesey waterproofing the babies are born with.
I know you put in a hard days work with her, and it wont really let up for the next 18 years or so, but I agree with MMD- treat her like she understands and she will, faster than you realize. It doesnt matter WHAT you read right now, only that you do. You could read your cars service manual and shed be very happy with that. Now, dont forget- we are watching! _________________ I have seen the Red Moon rising
